(1) The red paved Vine Maple Trail is safest for those with assistive devices such as canes and wheelchairs -- you will take the Vine Maple Trail to the Bridge at Cedar Mill Creek. Enjoy the wetlands there and turn around to retrace your steps for a fresh view on the way back to the Visitor Center for about a one mile hike. This is the time to hear the birds and see the white/pink Trillium along the way.
(2) Those that can handle a longer, softer, narrower trail with occasional tree roots can take the blue dashed set of trails back. First take the Vine Maple Trail to the bridge with our group and then go back on the Elliot Trail to the Big Fir, to the Trillium Loop, to the Big Fir, to the Ponderosa Loop connector, to the Vine Maple for a two mile hike. Look for the 3 pointed white or pink Trillium flowers that bloom in April. Sorry no dogs this time.
